Former Manchester United midfielder Rodrigo Possebon has began a new career in football on the back of his playing career after he became a sporting director in Brazil.
The Brazilian spent the 2009/10 season on loan at Sporting Braga in the Portuguese league during his time with the Red Devils. Rodrigo Possebon didn’t finish the Braga loan after falling out of favour. He returned to Manchester United in January 2020 after one appearance for the Portuguese top flight team. The midfielder didn’t play a single league game for Braga during his loan spell.
After his disappointing Manchester United spell, Rodrigo Possebonwent on to join Santos and played ten times in the league for the Brazilian team in his short time at the club. His football career went on a downward spiral after Santos. He played for teams like Vicenza, Criciuma, Mirassol, Juventude, Nautico, Passo Fundo and URT.
Rodrigo Possebon ended his playing career in the Asian country of Vietnam. His retirement from football came on the back of his brief spell at Vietnamese club Ho Chi Minh City. The player signed a contract with Ho Chi Minh City on January 7, 2018 and the contract was soon terminated after failing to impress.
Ho Chi Minh City terminated the contract given to Rodrigo before the start of the league season after failing to impress club officials. He spent around seven weeks at the Vietnamese outfit.
Rodrigo is now a sporting director with fourth tier clubFerroviaria as he tries to start a new career away from the football pitch. Since his retirement, he has been taking FIFA courses on sports management, law and marketing to prepare himself for the new career.
